My car's NCT is due this month and its declared off the road, it wont be on the road for another few months, seeing as its declared off the road, would I be lose the months its been out of test or would I get a full year whenever I test it?

A vehicle may be used during the period of a non-use declaration in two cases
To bring it to and from a test centre for the test or
to bring it for repair after a re-test, or back to where you are keeping it while it is off the road after the repairs. This may only be used where an appointment has already been made for a re-test.
The same rules apply to roadworthiness testing for commercial vehicles.
If you are bringing the vehicle to a test centre or to or from repairs after a test failure, to carry a copy of the appointment for the test or re-test with you.

Got that off a website there lad lol!

You lose the months that it's out of test like you always would have!
Your tax declaration has no bearing on your nct!

NCT always goes by the date first registered.
so if your NCT is due in Feburary it will ALWAYS be due in febuary regardless...
so whenever you go to NCT the car over the next few months you will still only get till Febuary 2015.

what is being said by lads above is if you were keeping the car off the road for the next 9 months and went to NCT it in November 2014, you would then get 15 months NCT, thus Febuary 2016.
