PostSubject: nct backdate and new owner registration   Thu May 01, 2014 4:31 pm

mate told me if i register a car that out of nct (say 1 year) into new ownership that when the new owner goes to nct it...it will not be backdated from the previous owners account....and that the new registered owner will only have to test once and get an in date nct cert instead of it being back dated....anyone know if this is true or legit

NCT is always backdated until the cars date of first registration regardless of change of ownership.

unless backdating it means the car would have less than 3 months (i think) NCT, in that situation the car would get a new NCT.

You can get between 4 and 15 months depending on first registration date and your test date.
