As above? My local place is great but not into the technical side of things.

Like a pit crew if ya need anything done but wouldn't have unreal tyres in stock.

Where are people getting their tyres?

Last set i got i went to fast fit, had some decent brands at ok prices, not just chinese ditch finders. Tried advance before them, asked for a brand name tyre and got offered barums.

If you want something specialist or you want to make a small savinv you'd probably have to but online.

Camskill always has good offers on quality tyres.

I'm shopping around all d time.
Being in trade makes me look more professional when I ring wholesale supplyers
since they know I buy 15-20 per week.

My next door neighbour runs a tyre place and has told me to get my tyres there as he can't match the price

this is my one gripe with on-line tyres.

like, i know money is money and it's hard earned, but would you not rather spend an extra 5 or 10 quid per corner and keep your neighbour (and his local Irish staff) in a job, rather than sending the money overseas?

He's more than happy to fit them for me at a price and keep business with me Andy.

He tells me honestly that he can't get the tyres I need at the same price.

This.

Its the same with skate shops in Dublin. I like supporting independent brands/shops even if it means spending an extra €10. There are places opened since the 90's and I hate seeing them close.

well i guess if they are a tyre he isn't able to provide. but needless to say he makes more if he supplies and fits tyres than if he just fits them.

it's unfortunate, because it's why smaller garages are finding it harder to legitimately survive. but that's another thread Razz

I would ring him first and he would check prices for me first and then advise.

For instance this week there was nearly 200 in the difference PER CORNER in the price from a different source than what he could find for us for a restoration project

Always get my tyres from local dealer (family friend). Uniroyals rainsports were €75 a corner which is €2 dearer than oponeo.ie. A wouldnt say that site is that cheap all together.

Often used part worns cause tbh didn't have the money to be shelling out for new ones but have a bit to spare now. Nowhere around here that seems to do decent brands though. Mate of mine, his aul lad has a place and in fairness he got me a pair of bridgestones last time I went to him. got them specially for me

I only put Hankooks on the Altezza and they are 110 euro a corner.

That site is a good bit cheaper but I'd rather go to the man I get all the time.

always part worns for me too.. thing is, you can be very lucky.. some people come in with a puncture and change all 4 instead of just the one (moneybags, lol).. the tyre places are left with the others then and want rid... i just happened to get 4 pirelli P6000's for 120 a few years back... they lasted me 3 NCT's Smile
