Well folks I've looked at the other threads already but couldn't find a specific answer.

Short question:
- HIDs on full beam only, are these still an NCT fail? (I presume yes)

Next question:
- If so would the NCT still fail the car if the ballasts were still in place, but one had halogen bulbs installed?

I threw a set on the E11 last night for my HB3 full beams and they are brilliant.

They wont fail you for having the ballasts or wiring in there, I passed like that back in April. I dont know if they will fail you for the hids in the fulls but its a 10 min job to swap out the bulbs so no point in risking it

If you don't have projector headlights you will fail the nct with hids but the wiring should be ok

Thanks guys.
Yeah I don't have project headlamps, but as said it'll only take a few minutes to swap the bulbs.

You'll have to get a letter from the main dealer stating that they were fitted from factory as far as i'm aware... hid's are alot of hassle when it comes to nct....
