As far as I know it'll fail if there's no airbag on the steering wheel... My airbag light never came on when I had my one on for some reason?

Have to either fit standard wheel or get an engineers report.
I have a lovely clean 96 spec wheel there for ya Smile

There's no other airbags and the bulb is out so no light comes on, the steering wheel is a momo race wheel and looks standard enough

as far as i know you only fail if the airbag light is on, they presume the car didn't have a steering airbag if there isn't one and the light isn't on. cannot say for certain though

I doubt that would work SupraLover as if they see the airbag in the car they'll expect a light on the dash

If the car came with an airbag as standard and its not there now its a fail without an engineers report.if it has no airbag as standard its fine.the lads that passed just got lucky as some days the testers dont give a shite or arnt bothered looking into it

Most cars that go threw the nct do have bags.at the end of the day when your a mechanic you get to know what cars have and them that dont.theres the odd 1 youd have to think about.i always just broght the standard 1.which doesnt have a bag

Just wondering, since I fitted mine my indicators have lost the self canceling function. They have to be turned on and off by hand, is this an nct fail??

My Carina was the same and it passed last week, have to cancel the indicators yourself.

My 20v passed a few months before that with a Momo steering wheel and again nothing was said.

Plan on fitting an airbag steering wheel to my Xli Corolla, purely because its a cleaner wheel, original one was all worn, cant see how they'd fail on that tbh.
