Will a non-imported car pass the nct with import plate on front and rear ?

I remember reading something about a new rule regarding that but I'm not sure if it is enforced or not.

In the UK they wouldn't pass... never heard of it over here though, be grand i'd say. Only a visual retest anyway.

Oh I remember now there's a nct guidelines kink on a thread about "holes in plate" can't link you too it as I'm on the phone but it has the info your after

my rolla passed on jap plates no probloms aslong as its standard font and clear to read and has all marks dashes etc and the irish writing above
